And we landed at the beautiful lake Bosumtwi. That was one lovely weekend with the families.

Lake Bosumtwi, which has a diameter of 8.5 km, is the largest natural lake in West Africa. It is located about 32 km southeast of Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital. It has a current maximum depth of 75 m. The lake occupies a crater of diameter 10.5 km that was formed by the impact of a meteorite about one million years ago. Lake Bosumtwi has a characteristic scenic beauty of surrounding circular rim of hills clothed with evergreen vegetation.

The origin of this beautiful natural landscape has both traditional and scientific opinions. The traditional opinion has a mystery surrounding the origin of Lake Bosumtwi. It is associated with its original name Bosomtwe which was given to it by the hunter who, according to the oral history of the people, is believed to have first discovered the lake. The word bosomtwe is derived from obosom and otwee. In the local language, obosom means “god” or “spirit”. Bosomtwe then means “god’s antelope”. It is thus believed that the lake is a spirit, and therefore it is regarded as a sacred lake. The name “Bosomtwe” is thus more appropriate than “Bosumtwi” that is mostly used in the literature. The scientific opinion was however a subject of controversy. The main arguments centered on whether it was of volcanic origin or meteorite impact origin.

If you visit Ghana or Kumasi you might want to enjoy the beautiful nature there.

Yours truly,

The pOLkASEphAhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01489871316663915755noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4362296275699141607.post-52108059059046433912010-10-02T04:40:00.000-07:002010-10-02T04:52:29.570-07:00SEphA introducing...LACE STYLE shorts...a piece of Africa for today's real Man

A lovely pair of shorts for men, meant to be worn to any casual outing; the beach or to the park, Ideal for activities like swimming, fishing, golfing, and sailing. Especially when you have a nice place to go. But what in the world should you pack for a weekend get-away. Here are a few items that everyone should pack when going away for the weekend, no matter where that get-away location is.

Clothes- Obviously you will want to pack clothes for your weekend get-away. The type and amount of clothing will depend on your location and how particular you are. The general rule of thumb is to pack the same number of outfits as days you will be gone, plus one. For example, if you will be going on a three day weekend get-away then you will pack four complete outfits for each day. By doing this you will give yourself more variety and have an extra outfit just in case someone decides to spill something on you one day. You just never know what will happen, so pack one extra.

Swimsuit- Always pack a swimsuit when you are going on a weekend get-away. You could be going to the beach, to the mountains or simply to the middle of nowhere, but always pack a swimsuit. You may want to go swimming or just do some sunbathing, either way you will regret not bringing that swimsuit if it turns out that you do indeed need it.

Toiletries- Toiletries are always required when you go on a weekend get-away, or any get-away for that matter. You always end up running off and forgetting something so you should always have to make yourself a list in advance so that you can keep adding to it when you think of something else to take along. You will want to bring things like haircare products (shampoo, conditioner, mousse, hairspray, etc.), personal care products (deodorant, cologne, toothpaste & toothbrushes), and whatever else that are your usual toiletries. Try to only take things that you know you will need for the weekend or else you will be taking along far too much luggage for a simple weekend get-away.

Sunglasses/Sunhat- Have you ever arrived somewhere only to realize that you have forgotten your sunglasses? It is highly unenjoyable. Usually when you go away for the weekend you will plan to be outside in the gorgeous sunshine, therefore, you will definitely want to bring along a pair of sunglasses or at least your favorite hat. The sun can be very bright and your eyes need the protection.

Sunscreen- When you decide to take a weekend get-away it is very important to bring along a bottle of your favorite sunscreen. The sun's rays can cause a lot of damage to your skin so always try to protect your skin as much as you possibly can.

Camera- By bringing along a camera you are always assured that you will not miss one of those memorable moments when someone is doing something funny or just plain cute. You never know when something interesting, beautiful or just plain funny will draw your attention and make you want to catch it on camera for posterity.

A Scarf- Imagine the evening out when you are cold and trembling... the guys are tired of giving up their jackets!!! lol, so you both get your pashminas...it's guaranteed to be unique and make you feel gorgeous when it's a Bernice Herman Scarf by SEphA.

Hope you all do enjoy the weekend trip, its just a day after tomorrow... and oh caution! do not drink and drive, whoever drinks should not drive and whoever drives should not drink.

Yours truly,

The pOLkASEphAhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01489871316663915755noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4362296275699141607.post-25423320775176133632010-08-04T16:29:00.000-07:002010-08-05T04:38:07.116-07:00signed by Arthur Guinness 1725 -23 January 1803
BH-SEphA 2010-2200, how about having this brand around for a heck of a long time!
I just looked at signed by Arthur Guinness 1725 – 23 January 1803 up till 2010; that must be from generation to generation!

It occurred to me that I couldn't count a number of product in Ghana that lived past ages(Century). Well can you? They probably did not hang around for so long, it's possible to count a number of them that have barely survived, and I asked myself why?

I read an article recently on Made in Ghana products and here is what I picked up:

Made in Ghana products are coming into fashion these days. Ghanaians are becoming political astute and are mapping themselves on the global platform. Ghana wants to see its own label globally currently by this one means “ Made in Ghana” products in every city in the world ...our football squad the Black stars have firmly positioned Ghana on the international scene to begin with.

We should not forget to help Ghana if we have the means with job creations and other initiatives, hence giving such needed opportunities to our youths. Let us patronize our products usage to increase our own productivity.

We have peace: respect for all classes of people, good food, good weather, good natural resources good friends and a good laugh too!

Shame! Shame! Shame onto all of us for sitting on the sideline, as spectators and just watching for the world to go pass us.

The challenge is now on Ghanaians to transform our mother country.
It is a gross mistake if we as Ghanaians, do not take pride in what we have got, and depend on other people’s finished products.

As long as we keep patronizing our own brands, our brands would have the tendency to live through ages...and that's also to say brand leaders in Ghana must produce goods to meet world class standards.

Yes we can! If you're out there with all the inspiration and dream to hold Africa up high, keep the fire burning and keep waving the flag, we shall get there.

Yours truly

The pOLkASEphAhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01489871316663915755noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4362296275699141607.post-31048008572801860382010-07-28T07:07:00.000-07:002010-07-28T08:13:05.458-07:00The Perfect Accessory
I cherish every moment that I live fashion.
