signed by Arthur Guinness 1725 -23 January 1803

BH-SEphA 2010-2200, how about having this brand around for a heck of a long time!
I just looked at signed by Arthur Guinness 1725 – 23 January 1803 up till 2010; that must be from generation to generation!

It occurred to me that I couldn't count a number of product in Ghana that lived past ages(Century). Well can you? They probably did not hang around for so long, it's possible to count a number of them that have barely survived, and I asked myself why?

I read an article recently on Made in Ghana products and here is what I picked up:

Made in Ghana products are coming into fashion these days. Ghanaians are becoming political astute and are mapping themselves on the global platform. Ghana wants to see its own label globally currently by this one means “ Made in Ghana” products in every city in the world ...our football squad the Black stars have firmly positioned Ghana on the international scene to begin with.

We should not forget to help Ghana if we have the means with job creations and other initiatives, hence giving such needed opportunities to our youths. Let us patronize our products usage to increase our own productivity.

We have peace: respect for all classes of people, good food, good weather, good natural resources good friends and a good laugh too!

Shame! Shame! Shame onto all of us for sitting on the sideline, as spectators and just watching for the world to go pass us.

The challenge is now on Ghanaians to transform our mother country.
It is a gross mistake if we as Ghanaians, do not take pride in what we have got, and depend on other people’s finished products.

As long as we keep patronizing our own brands, our brands would have the tendency to live through ages...and that's also to say brand leaders in Ghana must produce goods to meet world class standards.

Yes we can! If you're out there with all the inspiration and dream to hold Africa up high, keep the fire burning and keep waving the flag, we shall get there.

Yours truly

The pOLkA

  1. I do believe in made in Ghana good.. If you dont not support things made in your country how would they grow to become international... But also people or Entrepreneurs have to realize that the consumers want quality and thus will opt for foreign made products. To break that mentality, one must prove beyond all doubt that what they offer the public are off the same quality as foreign goods if not better. Also to be able to attract the local consumers.. packaging off such product and adverstising of such products must be to a standard where a person feels he is getting his monies* worth

  2. @B.O.N.T.I, I agree with you, In recent times though I've seen products that are being packaged to reach world class standards, then again as Ghanaians we need to break away from the Idea that Ghanaian products are inferior, we can begin with trying out a few trust worthy ones. I think we're doing ok, especially with the Friday wear, it's encouraging made in Ghana products. With time and technology we'll be doing wonders!lol
