LACE goes to Lake Bosumtwi
So this weekend, We traveled to Kumasi to fulfill our package promise. And we landed at the beautiful lake Bosumtwi. That was one lovely weekend with the families.
Lake Bosumtwi, which has a diameter of 8.5 km, is the largest natural lake in West Africa. It is located about 32 km southeast of Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital. It has a current maximum depth of 75 m. The lake occupies a crater of diameter 10.5 km that was formed by the impact of a meteorite about one million years ago. Lake Bosumtwi has a characteristic scenic beauty of surrounding circular rim of hills clothed with evergreen vegetation.
The origin of this beautiful natural landscape has both traditional and scientific opinions. The traditional opinion has a mystery surrounding the origin of Lake Bosumtwi. It is associated with its original name Bosomtwe which was given to it by the hunter who, according to the oral history of the people, is believed to have first discovered the lake. The word bosomtwe is derived from obosom and otwee. In the local language, obosom means “god” or “spirit”. Bosomtwe then means “god’s antelope”. It is thus believed that the lake is a spirit, and therefore it is regarded as a sacred lake. The name “Bosomtwe” is thus more appropriate than “Bosumtwi” that is mostly used in the literature. The scientific opinion was however a subject of controversy. The main arguments centered on whether it was of volcanic origin or meteorite impact origin.
If you visit Ghana or Kumasi you might want to enjoy the beautiful nature there.

SEphA introducing...LACE STYLE shorts...a piece of Africa for today's real Man
A lovely pair of shorts for men, meant to be worn to any casual outing; the beach or to the park, Ideal for activities like swimming, fishing, golfing, and sailing. Perfect for cocktail parties, weddings, wear them while boating, going out to party events, or just lounging around.
Though one might first think of it as the 'Bermuda' because of its length, it is rather unique in the design of fabric used (SASA). ''sasa'' is an indigenous African cloth which was once highly preferred by the indigenous African. It was made by sewing different pieces of fabric to form one beautiful piece of cloth. Nonetheless the beauty of this cloth is beginning to crawl its way back into fashion and now even more amazing than before.
